Verse of the Day

Matthew 5:43-45
“[Love for Enemies] "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”

Haiti needs our help – let’s pull out all the stops

Friday, 15 January 2010

Dear Friends,

I visited Haiti for a month a number of years ago. Haiti is one of the poorest places – poorer than many of the countries in Africa - that I have visited. A very unstable government and a turbulent history have left the people of Haiti impoverished. Adding to an already desperate situation, are the horrific consequences of Tuesdays’ Earthquake. These have been made even worse by the fact that most of the city of Port-au-Prince is built on hillsides. So, it is these areas of housing for residents that are the worst affected.
