I am very happy for our clergy in Capetown. The appointment came at the crucial time when a new direction was mostly needed and in fact, has been long overdue.

We welcome the Archbishop to Cape Town. He is clearly a very capable and humble servant of God.
The Installation yesterday was beautiful. Despite my original misgivings about the planning of the installation (I wish it could have been open to far more members of the Church of Cape Town) it was really moving - thanks to all who participated - particularly the liturgical dancers and the choir who sang in Xhosa (and swayed to the music). Thanks also to the wonderful speeches by Cardinal Napier and by Archbishop Emeritus Lawrence Henry.
The service truly reflected the diversity of the archdiocese in Cape Town - we heard prayers, readings and section of speeches in English, Afrikaans, Xhosa, Zulu, Sotho, French, Portuguese and Italian. Yet this diversity also reflected a unity in the Spirit as well.
We pray that the Lord will continue to pour down his Spirit and his blessings on the new Arch and on both the Archdiocese of Cape Town, and the Diocese of Kroonstad.
