Most Reverend Stephen Brislin, Archbishop of Cape Town
Born in Welkom on 24 September 1956, he did his schooling at St Agnes’ Convent, Welkom and CBC, Welkom.
He joined the seminary and did his Philosophy at St John Vianney, Pretoria and Theology at the Missionary Institute, London.
He was ordained a priest on 19 November 1983.
On 28 January 2007 Ordained Bishop of Kroonstad.
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him as the Archbishop of Cape Town on Friday, December 18, 2009 and was installed on 7 February 2010, on the Solemnity of Our Lady of the Flight into Egypt, the patronal feast of the Archdiocese of Cape Town.
He is also the President of the Southern African Catholic Bishop’s Conference.

2009: December 18, 2009 Appointed Archbishop of Cape Town Installed 7th February 2010
2010: Elected Vice-Chair Finance Committee
2012 August: elected President of SACBC (to take effect Feb 2013)
