Let Us Pause To Reflect On Why We Do Things We Do

The president of St Joseph’s Theological Institute, Fr Sylvester David OMI has asked the bishops to take this time to pause and think about the fundamentals of their ministry.  Introduced by Archbishop Jabulani Nxumalo OMI as a fellow Oblate and a fellow biblical scholar, Fr David is leading the bishops on the day of recollection as part of their plenary meeting which began today at Mariannhill Monastery Retreat House.  The bishops who belong to the Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference are gathered until the 7th August to pray, reflect and deliberate together.

The bishops are joined by Monsignor Zolile Mpambani SCJ who starts the plenary meeting as a presbyter and will finish it as a bishop.  He will be ordained on Saturday, 3rd August at Kokstad.
