World Meeting of Families Updates

Comments Off on World Meeting of Families Updates

Hurry up and book now before it is too late.

It is now exactly one year towards this event.  By 21 – 27 August 2018, we will certainly be in Dublin, Ireland, for the World Meeting of Families.  This is an event never to be missed by any member of any family.  Make yourself proud, count yourself amongst those who consider themselves and their families important.  Make that booking now!!

We previously spoke of the closing date of 31 August 2017 for our accommodation deposit of R5000.  Well, you can still make that deposit.  The due date has been extended to end of October 2017.

The projected price of R 35,680 is being REVIEWED for the best (much cheaper).  This is after some families have expressed their concerns, especially about accommodation costs.  Keep your eyes and ears open for a more improved offer, to be presented to you sometime in September.  The package will hopefully include:

  • Flights
  • 6 nights accommodation in Dublin
  • Daily breakfast & dinner
  • Daily return shuttle from the hotel to the RDS centre
  • Transfer from and to airport
  • Registration fees for the World Meeting of Families

Please note that a VISA is not needed when travelling to Ireland.

Kindly make that deposit today, as follows:

The remaining trip amount must all be paid by 30th June 2018.

Included in this email are two posters.  Please post them on your notice boards, especially the one with our contact details on it.

You may visit the Congress Website on:  http://www.worldmeeting2018.ie

PLEASE REMEMBER TO SHARE THE MESSAGE!!!

Be blessed   Mr. Ali and Mrs. Ntsako Motiang

SACBC Justice and Peace Commission Calls on the Government to Convene an Unemployment Summit

Comments Off on SACBC Justice and Peace Commission Calls on the Government to Convene an Unemployment Summit

STATEMENT OF SACBC JUSTICE AND PEACE COMMISSION CALLING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO CONVENE A JOB SUMMIT TO DISCUSS UNEMPLOYMENT CRISIS

We have taken note of the recent unemployment figures by Statistics South Africa, as well as the recent research findings on unemployment by the University of South Africa (UNISA) and Momentum.

We are deeply worried about the levels of retrenchment and unemployment in our country.

All the sectors of our economy are shedding jobs and expanding the ranks of the unemployed at an accelerated and alarming rate. In the mining sector alone, more than 70‚000 mine workers have lost their jobs in the past two years. We feel the pain of the thousands of South Africans who are unemployed and those who are victims of retrenchments.

The current retrenchment and unemployment trends demand a decisive and strategic action to reverse the escalation in the job crisis. We therefore join the calls for a job summit to discuss the ongoing retrenchments and the measures to expand job creation in the tough economic climate. The summit should be convened as a matter of urgency.

We also demand a moratorium on all retrenchments in all sectors, while awaiting the outcomes of the job summit.

The job summit should not shy away from discussing and pursuing job creation through macro-economic reforms and mitigation of the current political uncertainties. Our country needs a macro-economic framework that it is increasingly labour-absorbing and equitable in its distribution patterns.

We believe that efforts to cushion the effects of unemployment crisis on vulnerable families should be strengthened through expanded and sustained access to social protection. We therefore condemn the delays in the implementation of the unemployment insurance amendment bill which has been sent back to the Parliament for corrections.
