The Bishops through their Foundation have donated a sum of R100,000 to bring relief to those who suffered during the xenophobic attacks. The money was handed over to the Archdiocese of Durban Refugee Pastoral Care. The bulk of which will be used at the Durban inner-city shelter for the displaced people run under the auspices of the Denis Hurley Centre. The coordinator of the project, Mr Makusha Hupenyu, expressed gratitude to the bishops for the donation and said it will go a long way to provide missing basic commodities. He said that some will be used for the reintegration packages for the disabled.
