The Media Advisory Board is meeting on Wednesday to work towards a communications stratergy for the Conference. Current members are: Archbishop Slattery, Bishop Jose , Sr Hermenegild CPS, Fr Grant, Fr Russell Pollitt SJ, Rob Reidlinger, Claire Mathieson, Kelsay Correa and Fr S’milo. The President, Archbishop Brislin will also join in.

The Communications Representatives of Departments and Offices are meeting on Thursday to discuss in-house communications.

Justice and Peace Departments is running a training session for diocesan J&P activists.

Siyabhabha Trust team is visiting Eshowe for the project of the building of the Japanese-funded training centre.

The Youth Office meets the Salesian Institute to discuss “Spirituality of St John Bosco for the Youth”. Don Bosco has been provisionally selected as a patron for the youth in the Conference area.

Big event is coming up on August 2-4 for the Youth: 10th Anniversary of “Education for Life”. There is a build-up event this weekend in the diocese of Umzimkhulu.

The Aids Office is vibrant and spirit-filled after the retreat last weekend led by Bishop Frank Nubuasah SVD.

Upcoming Events.

The Department for Christian Formation, Liturgy and Culture is hosting “The Healing in Christ and Deliverance” mini-seminar session for priests, religious and laity. The focus will be: the ministry of deliverance, understanding Satan’s attacks, true defence against these and the practical “do’s and don’t’s”. They will be held at Glenmore Pastoral Centre-Durban (18-19 May), Palloti Farm-Queenstown (20-22 May) and the Chancery-Cape Town (24-25 May).
